The Inner Peace Now Podcast
During recent group Zoom meetings I have been asked if the desire for happiness or the desire to feel good implies resistance against negativity within ourselves.
"If I want to be happy, does that mean I am in resistance to unhappiness?"
I would say not necessarily. Happiness is a natural preference, in the same way that pleasant food is preferred over garbage. Once the fight against unhappiness or negativity starts to come to an end, there gradually becomes more space for us to choose a way to feel, if we want to do such a thing…
During a recent group Zoom meeting for inner peace, someone began asking about how to move out of negative self-stories. This led to a response about the mind ultimately seeking some sense of existence or security, and how this sense of security could be accessed directly in a much more enjoyable way. Then there is a segment about inner peace - how you can treat it as an infinite and abundant energy that is constantly around you and flowing through you, and you are either noticing it, or not...
How much do we really need the resistance that we carry around in our day-to-day lives?
Questioning the usefulness of some of our mental/emotional habits can be a quick way to expose what no longer needs our support....
Sometimes when I talk with people during one-to-ones, there can be a certain "spiritual conditioning" that ends up suppressing natural creative thoughts or desires. It's good to feel good. There are no downsides when it all comes from within...
The creative mind is an expression of presence.

Do you ever feel as if you have become anti-thought? As if thoughts are bad and shouldn't be there? Sometimes we can accidentally pick up attitudes against our own minds that don't serve us very well. I hope you find the video helpful…
"Hey Adam, I am more aware of my own body than I ever was before. However, it somehow scares me. I discover unpleasantness that I did not even know existed. For example, as I come to the present, I feel pain and I hear this noise in my head (a tinnitus) ... It almost feels as if I am creating all this myself, maybe by becoming aware but being scared/resistant to what is. Is that possible? I am somehow disappointed in myself when I realise that I am not accepting the unpleasant sensations..."
Sometimes there can be so many rules and "shoulds" about meditation that it can be easy to miss what you are really looking for. The tip in this video might help you to bypass years of strenuous practice and go straight to where you really want to be. I hope it helps.
Hi Adam
Hope you’re well. If you have time, what is appropriate to tell 10 and 8 year old kids about our true nature?
Maybe you have already written about this. Do we have a true nature? Etc.
One of my kid’s often asks what happens to us after we die type questions and I say things like, maybe we return to our essence nature - spirit and she wants to know what do we do though, as spirit. I want to know too!
Questions like that I need help answering!
Thank you!
These days fear can get a bad name. Be fearless. Don’t be afraid. Fear holds you back. Fear is an illusion. “We have nothing to fear but fear itself.”
If you make fear your enemy, you will always be in a battle with it. If you realise it is your friend, if you realise that its whole intention is actually to keep you safe and away from any possible pain, then suddenly fear becomes this energy that you realise is full of power. All that matters is our relationship to it...

Grounding is a great way to reconnect the energy of your body with the earth, and give your mind a rest from constant thinking. This meditation is ideal if you find it hard to fall asleep, if you want to wake up gently, or if you need a reconnection to some power during the day. Also great to let go of any stress...

Recently during a group Zoom call I began by talking about the attempt to quieten the mind, and how to make it easier.
Trying to silence or calm the mind through force can create extra tension. If we realise that this calmness or quietness is all around us all the time, then it is easier for the noise to merge with that silence naturally. Below you can watch a short clip of me explaining this little tip that can make meditation easier. I hope it helps...
