Peace Already

Peace Already

A silence that doesn’t try to be silent,
A Life that isn’t trying to live.
A peace that houses all that arises,
An emptiness without any ideas.

Noise can flow in an untroubled space,
The space will not make a complaint.
Noise can complain that itself is too noisy,
While the silence has nothing to say.

The effortlessness of silence already,
Is the freedom so obvious and clear.
But believe you are merely the noises on top,
And you may be troubled for many a year.

Noise calls out in a heavenly silence,
Saying “One day I shall reach the great peace.”
When all of this time, you are the being,
That sits quietly at peace, underneath.
