Choosing Power Over Painful Thoughts

Hello everyone,

Someone suggested I share some examples of questions I answer during one-to-one sessions. My responses always reflect whoever I am talking to. Someone might be very into "spiritual" topics already, while someone else might just want a way to feel more free. Here is an example of someone who was already following a particular practice who wanted help. I hope it's useful...

Question: I feel as if there are a lot of negative beliefs in my mind that I have to change one by one, but it seems to take so long to get through them all. And it feels difficult to change them sometimes. Is there anything else you could suggest?

Answer: Rather than thinking about it in terms of what beliefs are still there or not, see if it helps to approach it from a broader sense. Which mind are you using? Are you using your conditioned, probably lack-based or fear-based mind to think about things, or are you using your broader mind, your universal mind that is far more abundance-focused?

The lack or fear-based mind always feels uncomfortable, painful and small. It feels like trying to think with a mind that is being strangled, so you only get a bit of the power. The universal mind is the source of all inspired thought, it feels broader, more vast, and is more easily experienced within your heart rather than in your head. When you are still and free, you are in that receptive place where more powerful, abundance-based thoughts can arise. If you are worried, in your head, feeling uncomfortable in your mind, you can take this as a signal that you aren't plugged into your full power.

If it resonates for you, you can try this:

If you are worried or concerned or weighed down by a negative thought or belief, ask the question: "What does the universe believe about this?" If you ask the question within yourself and wait for an answer, your negative belief will not be supported, and you may receive some kind of higher thought or guidance or inspiration about whatever you were focusing on. You can tell if you are receiving thoughts from a broader part of yourself if you begin to feel empowered, comforted or relieved.

Direct the question into your body rather than into your head.

The universal mind that we all have access to is creative and abundance-focused. It sees solutions instead of problems. It has no resistance. If you are able to practice tuning yourself to it, the more it will be the mind you are consistently plugged into, until your entire mind seems to be transformed, and you operate from a different, cleaner frequency.

You could replace "The Universe" with "God" or "Nature" or "Infinite Intelligence" or whatever works for you. Anything that takes you out of pain and puts your focus back onto the power that wants to flow through you.

Think with your universal mind instead of your conditioned one, and see if that makes a difference.

Hope that can help.
